In the beginning...

I became interested in metal casting with I was a kid. Camping beside the Tennesse river on a fishing trip back in Alabama. After the dinner of fried catfish and corn fritters my dad made, he had a beer and I finished my soda. We tossed the cans in the fire and planned our strategy for the next day as the fire slowly burned out.

The next morning as I was getting the fire pit ready to cook breakfast I found blobs of silvery metal. My first castings!

I am relatively new to the casting realm. It started with my buddy's dad agreeing to teach me to carve Kentucky muzzleloading rifles. ihave no. 36 refractory cement. air setting high alumina. Made by A P Green Refactory Co. Mexico, Missouri. They are out of bussinous. My question. Would this make a good lining for a furnace if mixed with grog? George

My sand casting for one housing

Today ,my sand casting workshop is cast an auto flywheel housing sample for one of my customer.
