Total newbie here -- where are the classifieds 1 Year, 7 Months ago
It's kind of funny (although I'm sure you won't think so) -- I came here looking for someone who might do a small job for me. I'm a software guy and not interested in learning casting -- rather I need something small made. So I found this site, joined, and read the rules, which say no ads except in classifieds. So I go to homepage -- no link for classifieds. So I search for "classifieds" -- 1 hit. The rules that say only advertise in classifieds. Did you folks, who are understandably concerned that dealers will abuse the site to try to sell stuff, ever consider that newbies like me, who simply want to BUY something (in this case, a service) might be so lame (I admit it, so don't bother to point it out!) as to not be able to FIND the place to look for companies??

So 2 questions, if you will be nice enough with this noob to answer: 1. where are the classifieds. 2. What's the best way to find someone who will cast a small object for me in bronze. My wife has this metal table from a flea market with 3 4-5" clawfeet (and laurel leaf) thingies, and the 4th one is missing. We'd like to get one made. Is that a possibility? Thanks. And look, if you are really interested, it's possible I won't be back here right away looking for replies. Could you write me at rorymetalcastingzone AT thesellersplace DOT com? Thanks very much.

That's a good question.

I don't think the admins check in here much anymore, we are kind of on our own.
Post it under brass casting and include a picture. If it is what I'm picturing as a claw foot, it would be difficult to sand cast. May need to make a mold of it and do some lost wax casting. I would give it a try but I have several other projects going right now and Brass is not being very cooperative for me.

That's not what I pictured, those should be easy to do in greensand casting. A1 should be able to do one up for you.
I was thinking more of the Ball and Claw type.
