Some good info in old books 1 Year, 12 Months ago
Searching the web for info I discovered a site that is new to me. If you havent seen this you might want to. These are free downloads of old books archive on the net. They date back to the 1880s and 1900s but some really good info on casting, moulding, patterns, tools, alloys and more. they run 400 to 824 pages so are a bear to print out.
try these:
www.archive.org/stream/americanfoundryp00westuoft#page/400/mode/2up
and
www.archive.org/details/woodworkingwoodt00inteuoft
another source with lotsa freebies is google.books,
searching for foundry, casting, opens up hundreds of sites.

BTW: my photo is of the dash in the 1938 Morris -8 -2 Tourer that I am restoring, lots of parts to cast here.

Thank you for sharing. I too like to look at older books as sometimes a rarely covered subject was better communicated in long ago text.

Interesting format they have there, its like looking at the book once you get the hang of it. Luckily my local library had six related books available, one forty years old - one four years old.

I bookmarked the resource and will go back again when looking for really obscure info, like specifics of certain fluxes. Thank again

Thank you, those are excellant resourses. I thought I had scoured the internet but there is always another path to info.
I have an old copy of "A Fortune In Formulas". It has a lot of the old fomulas for making about anything, one problem is you can just go buy stuff at the local pharmacy like you used to.
