Metal Casting Zone

Hi.

I am new to the forum and want to introduce myself:

Name: Hilmar Marøy
Age: 37
Status: Living together with my love, Anghela.
Children: 1 daughter with former partner, 1 daughter with current partner, in addition my current partner has 1 son which I consider my own.

I have been working in the iron casting industry for the last 10 years, and still enjoy my work.
I continuously learn new aspects of this industry and really thrive on all the challenges that meets me every day.

Recently I have participated in setting up a brand new foundry in China, which has been extremely challenging but also 6 months of learning every day.

My next project will be more Tools & Equipment oriented.
I will be supporting one of our foundries in Sweden in getting the right equipment for both lifting/levelling moldboxes and also for the fettling department.

That`s a little about me, I hope I can get in touch with people on these forums who have a lot of expertise in this industry...

I work in a steel mill but, for the most part, almost everyone on here has a 5 gal bucket with some homemade refractory and a propane burner in it. We cast stuff out of Aluminum and Brass in our Backyards. I hope to build a small Cupola someday and do Iron pours of about 35 lbs each (16 Kilos). That's probably a long time from now.
