New Here 1 Year, 6 Months ago
Hello Folks,
My name is "TJ" and I am new to this site. I have been pouring lead fishing lures for over thirty years now. I pour from an RCBS bottom pour pot into aluminum lure molds. I recently purchased a spincast machine with a 640 pound furnace. I am anciously waithing for it to arrive. I understand the process, but I have never done it. I hope to learn from all the knowledgable folks here and find some sources for supplies and equipment on th west coast.

Thanks

TJ

Thanks John,
I hope to have fun with it. I'll be looking for sources to make my molds in the near future as I don't have a valcanizer. At the monent I am having the equipment vendor make the molds. I am trying to gather inforation to determine the pro/cons of having a valcanizer as well as the cost savings if any. I gather from your post that you make the molds. Where are you located?

Hi Basseducer

Bit of a pitty I am many many miles away in Australia ,www.orncastings.com If you were closer I would only be too happy to arrange possible manufacture of your moulds for you. The shippment of rubber moulds to US i think would run into a large postage bill. See how things work out to start with ,thats what I did when I started, I had moulds made for me, as I learn't more and more and sold more model parts ,some of the items I was doing needed some finer considerations in the mould manufacture I decided to save and get a valcanizer and do things for myself. Most important to me I just wanted to learn how to do the moulds. I must of done over 100 moulds or more and loved every minute of the process. Still learning. Look around in ebay and one may come up for sale. Good luck
