Hi my name is Wayne FOSTER I live in Kerwood Ontario Canada have melted some alum.poured some handles don't turn out very well,looking for a little advice

Welcome to the forum!!

Do you happen to be melting Aluminum cans or extrusion pieces? They are low Silicon and don't pour well sometimes. Try some cast aluminum like newer car rims, engine blocks from lawnmowers and such.

Yes Jemmer is right, old engine blocks from the scrap yard are quite good . I melted Aluminium from a old engine part last year to do a sand casting to make a sprue former for my spin casting moulds 760oC poured well and cleaned up fine. JOHNCAST
