Good Golly Almighty! I'm digging into yet another skill set.

I'm Stephen Casey. How you all doing? To the folks that put this site and forums together, thank you.

It sure is good to find this place. Hallmark Metals pointed me in this direction. That is after answering about a dozen questions. I asked if he knew of an online forum where I could ask such questions and he pointed me to you folks.

And I do have questions. I'll post them in the General Casting section as they are very general. And I'll do it right away.

Most all of my replication effort has been casting polyurethane resin in molds made of platinum based silicone (non-organic pour and brush on.) I must say I can do some nifty things in that.

But as I was running out of all materials at the same time I decided to widen my gaze and try some other silicone. While I was at it why not choose a silicone I can cast pewters in? So here I am with a Lee pot sitting on top of my kitchen stove and a large ceramic tile between them. And pretty much a pound of ruined white metal. (I imagine too hot and too many remelts.)

Yet the first time I ended up with some usable castings I was floored. This is going to be fun!
