The USMC Project. 10 Months, 1 Week ago
Here's the project I've been talking about for my Pastor. He wants to put it on the air breather on his bike. This is a slide show of the progress so far. I'm making a pattern to use for a lost wax casting.

This is awesome! I'm a veteran Marine and casting the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor is a splendid idea. He's sure to love it. So ... is your pastor a USMC veteran?

Oh, Yes! And proud of it as he, and you, should be. He is always quick to say he's not an ex-Marine, just on extended leave. He may need a new uniform though.

Right ... I don't say EX-Marine ... I say former active duty. Heh ... I live right near Camp Lejeune. If you need any emblems or insignias to use, let me know.

And I'd be interested to know where he was stationed and what his unit was.

I'll find out. I know he was at Paris Island, of course, then Camp Pendleton, the Philippines and Okinawa, and finish his tour at Camp Lejeune. He was in at the time of Dessert Storm. He fixed trucks.

I went in right after Desert Storm ... Got out in 1999. But still live here outside of Camp Lejeune. I was with a Topographic Intelligence unit.

To start, I'm doing Aluminum. I hope, with the mold, I can make several and do some in brass.

Houston, We have a problem!!!
Something I used reacted with the RTV. By the looks of it it must have been the Polyurethane spray I used on it. Freemans site and instructions only stated not to use sulfur based clays. I'm in contact with them but I don't know if I'll get any help. It set up everywhere except against the pattern.
