I had ordered some wax to try lost wax casting. The wax was Ferris file a wax. I didnt really expect my first attempt to come out at all I was just experementing so i didnt take any pictures of the process

Next time I will.
I started out by carving the wax to shape with an exacto knife, man this stuff is great!
then i took my wax part and stuck it into a small solo cup supported by a lump of clay to act as a sprue and support the part. Then i filled the cup with investment (the investemnt was sheetrock joint compound the setting type) no vacumn was used i just kept tapping the cup to work up the air. for burn out i just put it into the oven at 550 f for about an hour, the investemnt turned brown on the outside but it looked like the wax completely vaporized (and smelled like it through out the house!) Things were looking good so i decided to melt some Zinc in a spoon for pouring, think a made a new zinc silver alloy as the silver burnt off the spoon lol. Ok here is the result not bad at all, im very excited to move on with the lost wax casting and try some brass next time.
