What are modern investments like without a vacuum table? Can you successfully cast jewelry and precious metals without using a vacuum machine on your investment?

I don't use a vacuum, and it is fine. I cast in fine and sterling silver. You do get bubbles sometimes, but they can just be filed off. I sometimes use a footbath thing to vibrate the investment, and a lot of bubbles rise then. I also use a debubblizer spray on the pattern, which helps.

Thanks for the info. I feel more confident hearing from a few people that I'll be able to cast without a vacuum table. I read on MyHeap.com (under the steam casting article) that debubblizer can be made from isopropyl alcohol and dish detergent.
