Can enyone shed light on the kinds of glue to use for the foam patterns, i have tired UHU 'fake' superglue but its slow drying, hotglue but not good even covarege and leaves gaps in the bonded parts that leave cracks in the metal.

Welcome to the forum!!

I've used hot glue, it only takes a drop. You can make small filets with it too. I've also used Elmers Craft spray on glue. Just as little as possible. The other thing I've done some is use a 1" sprue and riser and drill a 1/2" hole down the center to help the metal flow in faster. You just have to make sure you don't get any sand in the hole.

I've used 3M Spray Mount Adhesive with good results for hot-wire cutting.
There's a minimum amount of adhesive that should burn out readily.

I stumbled into a useful foam glue at Michaels Art Supply store in the adhesives dept.
Believe it or not its called "Foam Cement". Have also had good results with "Elmers quick setting school type glue.

I use Copydex. A thin smear on each face of the join, then leave to dry for 15 mins.
This creates "Impact adhesive" surfaces which give an immediate firm bond on contact. Make sure you get it right first time though.

That looks like a UK item. Wiki says it smells like fish.
The 3M spray works about the same, spray a little on each side, wait, and then stick them together.
