what temps do certain metals melt at? pewter? bronze? Silver? I thought I'd ask here before looking it up lol

Pewter Melts at 460 F.

Aluminum Melts at 1200 F.

Silicon Bronze Melts at 2100 F.

Copper Melts at about 1981 F.

Silver melts at about 1763.6 F.

I just saw thise melting temps and something doesn't look right. Copper melts at a higher temp than silver?? I'll have to do a little research on this. I could be mistaken. I plan to do some brass casting so I'll need a temp for that. On a previous article some guy has a flower pot furnace with pics. Looks interesting.

Look up your metals at Wikipedia. Melting point is listed there, along with density at room temperature and melting point. This allows you to calculate how many percent shrinkage you get when the metal cools.

I like the chart but there are many alloys of aluminum and they tend to melt differently. This will help with the aluminum alloys, but I do not list melting temps.
