Hi, I was wondering if it matters if you use soduim or calcium bentonite in green sand? I believe ths sodium swells from moisture and the calium does not but Im not sure if it would matter.I have also been having problems with sand sticking to the pattern, with the use of parting dust.wet spots in sand? to much water? not rammed hard enough? not enough relief on pattern? The sand passes the squeeze test and even feels a little dry, and other than effecting the permability can you over ram a mold? Anyone with advice on the above your HELP WOULD BE GREATLY WELCOMED.

Either one should work. The mix is about 10% Bentonite to 90% sand by weight. The sand should be pretty fine, I don't know what grit size for sure. I use a grease spatter screen form Wally-World.
What are you using for parting compound? Sticing would probably be too wet, but I've had mine pretty wet and haven't had much sticking. I have pulled the sand from not drafting properly, or not pulling straight out of the sand. I do that a lot.
