Gravity pour from a vulcanized rubber mold 1 Year, 10 Months ago  
This is a gas pump lever that I had a customer request I make.

It was made with a vulcanized spin mold type rubber, but just gravity poured with a single gate.

The mold was a 3 piece mold with one loose insert. The part is about 6" long.

Looks Good!

Is that Zinc or a low melting point alloy?

It is a Zamac 2 alloy that melts @ 750 F. (the 2 being the amount of aluminum)

The same type of metal that was used to die cast the original part.

I cast all the way up to Zamac 12, but mostly 2, as it chromes well.
