Metal Casting Zone

I did the little course on basic info on casting,, but at the end of each course it says i can get access to two MORE books, but when I click the ­link­ it says I am not allowed access,, just like when I sign in and it says i am not online for some reason,,

some help pleasee,,,

Thanx for giving us such a nice platform to discuss metal casting issues with other people from across thw world. However, I want to bring onething to your notice that the site is very slow. It takes longer than the average time to open a particular page. Plz look into this.

Thanks for the feedback. I have been making so many changes I don't have "Cacheing" set up on the site yet. That should speed it up once I get things placed.

I do have a question for you. I see you are over in England. Can I also ask what your Internet Connection Speed is? I would be nice to know to keep in the back of my head.

it seems pretty fast to me.

i use a Mac and DSL.

( i don't know the exact speed )

but i know nothing about web sites.

It seems fast to me as well. I have a cable Internet Connection and that is why I wonder. I wonder about users with slower connections and their experience with the site.

I have been doing some research on speeds. Even if I move this site to a dedicated server, the time to access the site from England or Hong Kong will be about 4X slower then someone in the states. It seems kind of like shipping. The closer you are to the server this site is on, the faster it will be. The further away, the slower.
