Ok here it is, at work they have a acid tank they use to remove aluminium from parts. I was asked if there was a way to recover the aluminium from the acid bath im sure theres a way but im not sure how. Can anybody give me some advice on this.

i dont think there is a way as the acid would have oxidised the aluminium past recovery.you may be able to make abrasive sand from it if there is enough to justify the expense.

It was just a thought my boss had, if there was enough to recover he wanted to recast it. I know you can use acid to recover pure metal just can remember the process. If I could find a cheap way of doing it with nickel I have about 700lbs of turnings, but if I cant turnings sell just as well.

the process you are thinking of is like electro plating. they use it to recover gold and other precious metals. ive never heard of it been used for aluminium. maybe because its so cheap .
