Hello.

I would like to know some good chemicals for de oxing various molten metals.
I have heard of aluminum for steel and even Salicylic acid, (from willow or aspirin), for copper and brass.

What about silver alloys? Platinum? Tungsten?
Thanks.

there are some very expensive fluxes out there!!! wether to use a flux or not will depend on your finished casting and its intended purpose.i dont use any. i let the metal "self" cleanse and skim the top off and bash the pot . im using steel crucibles and naturally my methods of bashing the pot cant be done with a clay crucible. start collecting clean scrap!!! avoid painted and well weathered scrap as you will need a flux if you use dirty scrap!
