Buying an Electric Melter 2 Years, 1 Month ago
Hey eveyone new to the forum and metal casting. Been metal casting with a hotplate upto now but im looking to buy an electric melter but i have no idea where to look. I want something that is capable of melting precious metals aswell as soft metals like lead, pewter, tin etc. I have considered making my own gas furance but i want something i can more accurately regulate the temperature with....

Im looking for something on a budget and so far this is the best i can find...

It's the Saturn Electric Melter for $565...was hoping to get something a little cheaper though...So any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

(in the UK if that makes a difference)

Welcome to the forum.

I can't help you much with your question. I'm trying to build my own electric furnace, using kiln elements I got off E-bay. I don't think it will get much over Aluminium temps.
Here's a jewelry supply in New York that carries Kerr products. Price is about the same.
