Jammer that looks like a good project, great flywheel design

That's what I like about it. It's called an Old Style, made until 1926. The new style has ugly straight spokes.

That's pretty cool Rob.
Except it has 6 spokes, even though, I guess 5 is supposed to be stronger.

Is that a CAD program, more important, is it cheap.
I'm playing with google sketch-up but I'd like to move up.

Solid works! My brother-in-law uses solid works ... but he works for NASA!
What do you do for work ... or do you just have and extra copy of solid works kicking around your home?

Wow ... I thought this forum was for DYI Metal Casters and Newbies like me.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining ... just amazed. It's great to see more experienced casters willing to impart their wisdom/knowledge of metals to us greenhorns... It's like ... Free College!

So where do back yard blokes go to get solid works training? I've been in the GIS/Engineering/Surveying field for about 15 years now and know a thing or two about CAD programs ... and solid works in nothing to sneeze at ... nor is it like MS Word that you can just open up and start.
