You'll have to start a thread on how you made the pattern. Especially the curved spokes.
I've got some miniture projects I'd like to start...someday.

That looks a lot like what I want to do, except no cylinder.
Mine would be a Chandler-Price. I don't have a photo here.

I found one on line. It's a printing press. I'd like to do it with a 5 1/2" flywheel, the original is about 30".

Jammer i only use top grade iron no rust paint ect i used fine grian iron from hydraulic components from work



stupid question, how does one tell the difference from press powder steel and cast iron?

I cheat, I bring a sample to work and run it on the spectrometer. I get a good idea of the carbon, silica and lead content.
But, if it breaks clean, has fine grains and files easily, it should be pretty good stuff.

so many alloys, I think i have about 5 different types of aluminum ingots now. My favorite is old evinrude pistons, hard bright and shiney, I think there is some copper in them...
