Mini Die Casting - NEW MEMBER 1 Year, 7 Months ago
Dear Friends,

I am a new member from India.

I am a proffessional model maker.

I have a recent project for manufacturing HO scale (1:87) scale wagons from one of my customers and I have CAD drawings ready for all the parts.
I need all the parts made in brass by pressure die casting so that they are accurate and precise.

Is it possible to set up a mini pressure die casting unit in my workshop at a reasonable price or can anybody help me with my requirement. There are over 30 different components, all very small sie and need in Brass. Quantity can be upto 1000 at the most.

I have friends here who own tool room and they can make die for me.

Any help would be really greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot in Advance.

Pramod Agrawal.

That sounds like a cool project. Way out of my capapbilities. A lot will depend on the type of brass you are going to use. Check out the type of brass that would be best for thin, small castings, so it fills out well before setting up.
Good luck, keep us posted on your progress.
Welcome.

there is a commercial foundry here in australia...they use lost wax for their castings...this can be done on a small scale but the outlay is very expensive.
