Bentone 34 for K-bond sand in the Northeast 3 Years, 1 Month ago
Just wanted to share. I've been looking for a local supplier (NY state) for Bentone 34 to be able to mix up a batch of K-bond sand. The best I found was TMC materials. They have a warehouse available for pick-up in RI. Since I have family there I can kill 2 birds with one stone. I'll leave feedback on the formula once I give it a try.

ok, It's been a while since I last posted. I received the benton 34. I mixed up a small batch 10 -20 Lbs. by hand. I was impressed at the texture. We casted something I don't remember what it was but it came out pretty good. The next day we went back and the mix was very dry. It was cold out so that could have had something to do with it. The next try we had to mix up about 100 Lbs. All by hand, it a pain. Started making a muller, and haven't had a chance to get back to it. If you leave the mix for any amount of time, and it's cold. You will need to re-mix it. I haven't figure this out yet, but with time I'm sure I will.

To anyone that tried it. When you add the alcohol to the mix, it the most amazing thing. It must be the fumes that start making the mix just a little sticky. It can't be the amount you add.

Haven't had a chance to pour anything in awhile. To many other projects.
