Jewelry casting is a time honored trade. Some of it is art related and some of it is commercial related.

next august.
We might be leaning towards white gold anyway(not rhodium plated though) for her. I am going to get mine in the same shape but bigger and in stainless steel.

its a funny thing this wedding stuff. i remarried 3 years ago and i wanted to make our rings. whilst studying ring making it rekindled my interest in casting!! the more i learnt the more i was turned off from buying wedding rings. sooooo. we bought placer nuggets!!!(i think thats what they are called. bits of quartz just riddled with small nuggets with a purple vein . these are found close to the surface.)we then bought cheap electroplated gold rings. the gold has totally gone from mine and its back to brass!! give it a polish and it looks gold!! with all the sand work ive done my ring is wearing thin. (i wont take it off!)if it was gold my casting would be costing me much more . i must remember august and give you all our best for the future.

It's been my experience that the best metal to choose would be whatever she wants. If she said "You pick it, honey" then your in big trouble...

these seem like wise words. We have been discussing metal selection together. I am just lucky that she is much enlightened then many and is more interested in the design and supporting local artists and casters then whatever corporate shiney rock companies are pushing.

I didn't mean to make my wife sound picky or anything. She doesn't really care as long as it's ...
1. Solid Yellow Gold 14K or better.
2. Real Diamonds, Opals, or Rubies, Non of that lab created stuff.

Other than that she doesn't care.
