ive successfully melted down aluminium foil ,the type you use in the kitchen. 1 metre of foil gives you 10 grs. it needs to be folded into long sticks so it can be easily added to the pot. because its clean (straight from the roll ) there is very little dross. i did it as an experiment and if i ever run out of scrap and need just a small amount i have a few rolls in the pantry
